Rebozo massage technique
The Rebozo is a long, delicately woven shawl that has been used throughout Latin America for centuries. It serves various purposes, from carrying babies to providing warmth and comfort during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Rebozo Massage is an ancestral Mexican practice rooted in traditional midwifery. It is commonly used to alleviate physical discomfort during pregnancy and to provide gentle support for pain during labor. Beyond childbirth, it can be a powerful companion to other life processes, offering a sacred moment to reconnect with oneself, realign, find balance, and harmonize energy. This practice creates a space for deep inner listening, cultivating a profound sense of support and nurturing
Postpartum Massage
The Sobada is an ancestral massage technique and an act of profound care passed down from generation to generation by midwives and healers through oral tradition. This sacred art connects people with the healing power of touch and the wisdom of the body, focusing especially on the abdomen and uterus, places of creation and transformation.
Through slow, deep, and gentle manual movements directed toward the center of the abdominal area, the sobada seeks to restore balance to the physical body while also embracing its spiritual aspect. In postpartum care, the sobada helps the uterus and other organs return to their natural position, promotes blood flow, and releases muscle tension stored in the abdominal area and lower back.
Beyond repositioning organs or relieving tension, this practice invites a reconnection with oneself, allowing the body to recover its natural balance.
Bonding Herbal Bath
This is a beautiful ritual in which mother and baby bathe together in warm water. Gentle herbal and flower blends can be added if desired. This tender bonding bath is deeply relaxing and healing. It especially promotes and strengthens the connection when the birth experience has been stressful or not as expected.
Yoni Steaming
Vaginal steaming, also known as Yoni steaming, is an ancient practice rooted in various cultures around the world. It involves steaming the vulva with healing herbal infusions. In Central America, for example, vaginal steaming is a traditional treatment for a range of female ailments. Today, this practice is used by many midwives and doulas worldwide.
Steaming the Yoni has a deeply relaxing effect that helps reduce stress. Vaginal steaming with a carefully crafted herbal blend during the postpartum period not only supports the regulation of the nervous system but also promotes the cleansing of the uterus and aids in healing tissue that may have been affected during delivery. It is recommended to wait until bleeding has stopped before beginning the treatment.
Belly binding
Originally from Malaysia, where the technique is known as "Bengkung," belly binding is an ancient tradition in which the abdomen is wrapped with a long cotton cloth after birth. The aim of this practice is to support your recovery by gently realigning the abdominal muscles. The gentle pressure applied to the abdominal area helps the organs, which shifted to accommodate the uterus and baby during pregnancy, return to their original positions more easily. It also provides emotional support, helping you reconnect with your body after childbirth.
Home Support
Home support can include services such as childcare when parents need rest, accompanying you to doctor visits and other appointments, as well as meal preparation and light housekeeping. (Shopping costs are not included.)
